John Danaher, President of TransUnion Interactive, to Keynote ID360 2014 in Austin, Texas

CHICAGO, IL--(Marketwired - Apr 7, 2014) - There is a new victim of identity theft every two seconds. As the fastest growing crime in America, identity theft has been an issue since the early ages and has rapidly evolved, affecting everyone from newborns to the deceased. John Danaher, president of TransUnion Interactive, will present a keynote presentation titled "The Problem of Identity: Perspectives Past, Present, and Future" at The University of Texas' Center for Identity's ID360 2014 conference on Wednesday, April 9 in Austin, Texas.

His presentation will highlight the history of identity theft, how the epidemic and protection alike have evolved and how different populations are targeted and the effects it can have on them.

"Identity theft is the fastest growing crime in the country and thieves are getting more and more sophisticated, making everyone from babies to seniors a target," said John Danaher, president of TransUnion Interactive. "We are excited to be a part of this great event and I look forward to helping attendees understand how very common behaviors could be exposing themselves to identity theft and how they can better safeguard their identity."

The ID360 2014 theme is "Identity: Cradle to Grave," exploring how identity changes as a function of age for people, businesses and devices. Changes in age can impact identity descriptions, management, risks, values, security, and privacy, as well as motivate different legal, business, policy, technology and social solutions. ID360 will explore identity throughout the lifecycle for:

  • People - before birth, after death, and all the ages in between.

  • Businesses - from launch to growth, mergers and retirement.

  • Devices - through product lifetime and individual ownership.

Danaher's keynote presentation will take place on Wednesday, April 9 beginning at 8:10 a.m. at the AT&T Executive Education and Conference Center in Austin, Texas.

Danaher has served as President of TransUnion Interactive, the consumer subsidiary of TransUnion -- one of the three national credit reporting companies -- since 2004 and manages the day-to-day operations as well as strategic direction of the business. Mr. Danaher was Chief Operating Officer of TrueLink from 2001-2004 before helping to manage the merger of TrueLink, Inc. with TransUnion. He has 25+ years of experience in the financial services industry, including mortgage and home equity originations and servicing. Danaher joined TrueLink from Citibank where he designed and launched the company's home equity Web site. During his tenure at Citibank, he was responsible for Web design and development, strategic planning, systems integration, process design, project management, and training. He has a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Toronto and a Masters from Washington University in St. Louis.
