TransUnion renews partnership agreement with Chicago Bulls

TransUnion and the Bulls team up to support the Mercy Home for Boys & Girls ‘Hoops to Homework’ Program

TransUnion (NYSE: TRU), a global leader in information and risk management, announced a renewed partnership with the Chicago Bulls for the 2015 – 2016 season today. The sponsorship includes community relations integration, TV-visible branding, social promotion, a promotional giveaway night and more.

As part of the partnership, TransUnion will be the presenting partner of the 2016 Hoops to Homework program, a weekend basketball league at Mercy Home for Boys & Girls that works to promote educational excellence and good sportsmanship among Chicago children in crisis.

Ken Chaplin, senior vice president at TransUnion
“The Bulls have a remarkable legacy of service to the Chicago community and we are delighted to partner with them in support of Mercy Home for Boys & Girls this year. This alliance is special to TransUnion in so many ways, not only because the Bulls are a hometown team, but also because our support will provide real solutions for children who most need them.”
Ken Chaplin, senior vice president at TransUnion

Hoops to Homework incentivizes Mercy Home youth to maintain high academic achievement by requiring minimum grade point average maintenance, good behavior and measurable growth in their Mercy Home programs in order to participate in each game.

“The Chicago Bulls are very happy to have TransUnion in the Bulls family,” said Michael Reinsdorf, Chicago Bulls President and COO. “Our sponsors play a key role in our success and TransUnion has been a good partner that has proven its commitment to the Bulls organization and the wider Chicago community.”

TransUnion signage will be permanently visible on the basket-pad on each end on the court during the entirety of all non-nationally televised Bulls home game broadcasts. It will also host a regular season game where 10,000 Bulls fans will receive Bulls/TransUnion co-branded giveaways.

Bulls fans can also expect to see TransUnion branding integrated into the Bulls’ tweets and on Bulls.com throughout the season. During each regular season Bulls game, TransUnion will sponsor a score update on Twitter. The Bulls’ website ranks among the top three in the NBA, with more than 3 million visitors per month, and the team has more than 21 million social media followers.
