TransUnion Launches New Mobile Application to Help Consumers Be Connected With Their Credit, Personal Finances

CHICAGO, IL--(Marketwired - Sep 3, 2013) -  TransUnion, the national credit reporting company that provides solutions to more than 45,000 businesses and 500 million consumers worldwide, announced today the launch of their new mobile credit monitoring application for consumers to help members manage their credit anywhere, anytime from their smartphone. The new mobile app allows consumers to review their credit information and get alerts to help better protect them against identity theft -- at home, on the train, in the bank -- wherever and whenever they need to access their credit information.

A study* conducted by COUNTRY Financial finds that 53 percent of U.S. adults say they use online banking and investment applications regularly, and 70 percent of those users say these tools make them more diligent about tracking finances.

"People are more mobile than ever before; with TransUnion's credit monitoring App, they are connected to their credit information whenever and wherever they want it," said Julie Springer, vice president at TransUnion. "With our App, members can review their information frequently -- and a key to financial success is to stay informed and monitor progress on achieving those financial goals."

The new TransUnion Credit Monitoring mobile application is available to iPhone users who have a current TransUnion credit monitoring membership. To download the application, members should search "TransUnion" in the Apple App Store. An Android version will launch soon.

To celebrate the launch of the new application, TransUnion has also launched the TransUnion School Spirit Sweepstakes -- connecting the community to their local K-12 schools with a $5,000 school donation. Parents can stay connected with their children with daily Apple iPhone giveaways (awarded as a $200 Apple gift card) -- which also helps winners connect with their credit via the new TransUnion Credit Monitoring App.

Sweepstakes Details and Entry Information:

One winner will be selected each day from August 26 through September 15 to receive a new Apple iPhone, awarded as a $200 Apple gift card. For every entry received, TransUnion will add $2 to the grand prize, up to $5,000. At the end of the sweepstakes, one Grand Prize winner will be selected to nominate an eligible K-12 school to receive the prize to help with educational materials and supplies.

To enter the TransUnion School Spirit Sweepstakes, fans should visit the TransUnion Facebook page at www.facebook.com/TransUnion, "Like" the page and fill out the online entry form between August 26, 2013 and September 15, 2013, 11:59 pm CDT. Limit one sweepstakes entry per person.

The TransUnion School Spirit Sweepstakes is open to U.S. residents, 18 years of age or older, who have pre-existing internet access and Facebook accounts. Employees of TransUnion, ePrize, Inc., and their respective parents, subsidiaries, agencies, and affiliated companies and their immediate families are not eligible. No purchase necessary to enter or win. Download the official rules.

* The research was based on a survey commissioned by COUNTRY Financial of 3,000 U.S. adults
